Congratulations to Cherokee Elementary for being named a Blue Ribbon School. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes both public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence. This prestigious award exemplifies excellence in education. Cherokee students consistently score among the top 10% of the state and outperform other schools on state assessments. Out of all public and private schools in the state, six schools, with only four in the Valley, received this award and will be recognized in Washington this November. In addition to the Blue Ribbon award, Cherokee is consistently recognized by the Arizona Educational Foundation as an A+ School of Excellence and is also Arizona’s first National Literary Landmark. The MVP movie premier party was recently held at Steak 44. The film, from Green Beret and former NFL player Nate Boyer, is based on the true story of combat veterans and former pro athletes finding purpose and identity after the uniform comes off. The MVP organization was founded in 2015 by Fox Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer and Seattle Seahawks Nate Boyer. They wanted to address the challenges that combat veterans and former professional athletes face in transition once the uniform comes off. MVP empowers combat veterans and former professional athletes by connecting them, providing them with a new team to assist with transition, promote personal development, and show them they are never alone. Here Jeff Glazer and Nate Boyer are joined by Cardinals GM Steve Keim at the premier party. The movie is in select theaters now, and you can request your own private showing. Click here for more information on the foundation and movie.
